We took on Southport Labrador on Loxton 3.
Won the toss and as usual elected to bat. Conditions did suit the bowling with a strong wind giving the bowlers a great advantage. Even still we found ourselves in a state of shock with the score at 7/34 after 14 overs. Amit (back from holidays in India) scored 34 and Colin (back from holidays in Vietnam) scored 17, battled away and with a partnership of 50. This at least provided a total for Southport/Labrador to chase. We set them 95 to win.
Opened with Rory and Krusty and Rory got the initial breakthrough. The next change came with Ian Coyne coming on in the 7th over and promptly taking 2 wickets in his first over. He followed up with another in his 2nd over and we were well and truly in it. The game was evenly poised for much of the match.
If nothing else it was great to get a full days cricket in and welcome Troy Maher and Jessie Wade into the team. Both look promising cricketers. We look forward to better results in the coming weeks.
