Lost toss on a stinking hot day at a new oval Brockman Oval at Helensvale and we were put into bat by the annoying Helensvale captain (who was the worst umpire I have ever seen – worse than me).
We lost regular wickets again and the tail once again rescued us , Brad Jackson was the rock with 28 not out with contributions from Rex Breed 18 and Justyn Martin 18 got us through to 8/118 off 35 overs.
Unfortunately we only had 10 men , which was going to be a disadvantage as they seemed to pick the gaps well,coupled with the fact that the captain dropped two catches . Best bowler was Steve Clarkson with a very tidy 1/12 off 7 overs, Rex bowled well without luck for 0/19 off six overs and Kurt Marriot once again proved he is a handy acquisition with ball with 2/35 off seven. Helensvale winning 4/123 after 30 odd overs.
