Club Head Coach

Runaway Bay Cricket Club are currently seeking a Club Head Coach for the 2024/2025 upcoming season
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the team and individuals to build a culture and style of play that:

  • Promotes enjoyment, unity and commitment to standards which contribute to player development and consistent high performance;

  • Fosters the development of leadership skills;

  • Promotes player ownership of their game;

  • Respects the Spirit of Cricket and being role models for junior members;

  • Provide technical expertise to assist with the conducting of net sessions and fielding practice to ensure that the highest level of player development and performance is achieved and maintained, utilising the principles of the Qld Cricket ‘Athlete Framework’ to support coaching methods;

  • Plan and execute First Grade match day duties, including but not limited to warm-ups, pre-game tactics and in-game coaching;

  • Create and implement individual player performance plans for the senior playing group, through facilitating a collaborative and supportive environment where each player has clarity of expectation to maximise their development;

  • Devise, implement and manage an effective pre-season and in-season training program;

  • Be a role model and proactively develop a positive, values-driven environment that demonstrates a "club-first" attitude;

  • Contribute to higher grade selection decisions, working alongside captains and selectors;

  • As a coach, have a thirst to continually develop your own coaching skills and be open to feedback;

  • Consistently adhere to the relevant standards, rules and regulations, policies and procedures for Cricket Coaches.

 

About You:

  • Demonstrated success of coaching and player development.

  • A successful track record of working within a team, leading and embedding a positive culture with an ability to motivate and inspire, and remain calm under pressure.

  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships across the Club and its stakeholders with a clear, honest and tailored approach to communication.

  • Ability to manage individual player development, including setting clear objectives and challenging expectations, with an understanding of long-term player development and accountability.

  • Commitment to keeping up-to-date with innovative techniques and to proactively share knowledge.

 

Please note that this is a seasonal opportunity and will be engaged on an independent contractor basis.

Hours are mostly afternoon/evenings for training sessions and weekends for games
